Reveal of our Powder Room just off the garage entry.

We’ve been in the house for a little over a month now and we’ve been busy unpacking and settling in.
I’m so excited to be sharing the first room tour of our new house! I plan to share these reveals as we complete each room and hope that once school starts, I’ll have more time during the day to finish some small projects.
This room has been in the works, planning-wise, for a very long time. I bought most of the decor almost a year ago and the wallpaper has been staring at me for a month in the corner of the room.

I wanted to share a few of the details that I added to our powder room with you here. My goal was to design a calming French Country inspired room that our guests would smile at when visiting.
We planned for our powder room to be directly off the garage entry into the house so that anyone visiting or hanging out outside, could quickly come in for a wash or potty break. It’s also far enough away from the kitchen and main living area that guests don’t feel awkward going to the bathroom with the crowd right by the door.

This little antique corner shelf was originally a cherry finish and it was in our powder room in the rental house. When I decided on my theme for this room, I knew I wanted to paint it a fresh white.
It now sits in the corner of the powder room and displays a mix of decor and bathroom essentials such as air freshener, tissues and hand sanitizer.
I had wanted a rug in front of the vanity but decided against it with all the dirt that comes into this room since it’s right off the garage.

The wallpaper in here was a big part of my design from the beginning and really set the mood for my inspiration here. I got James to agree to wallpaper in this one room because I planned on purchasing a peel-able brand. While my original intention was a peel + stick wallpaper, I couldn’t find one that I loved as much as this one in that finish.
So the box of paper rolls sat in the corner of this room for a month before it went up. Actually I planned on attempting the install by myself – I know now that would have been a disaster! My mom and step dad were over this weekend installing the tile in our oldest son’s bathroom and mom and I decided to conquer this task together.
I’m so glad she was there to calm my frustration and help with the positioning because there is no way I would have survived this project on my own. I don’t intend on ever doing a wallpaper job again!
I hope you enjoyed this room tour! Don’t forget to follow along for updates on IG @HouseManorVA and be blessed in your every day!
